Rain Gardens have become very popular.  These are gardens established in a depression, usually near the house or along a curb.  They are used to collect excess rainwater, relieving the strain on sewage systems, or soaking up water that might otherwise leak into a basement.

If you are an architect or home owner interested in establishing a rain garden, I can supply a number of species commonly used.    Most of the top plants on rain garden lists are native prairie plants.  The deep roots of these plants can withstand the occassional flooding without suffocating.  I have about 3 acres of native prairie, can supply large quantities of many plants, and usually have plants potted and ready to go.

Because these plants are potted in trade gallon containers or larger, it is usually quite expensive to ship them.  It is recommended you pick them up at our location, or we can deliver them for a mileage fee.  Call ahead with your order to arrange a time, and to give us time to make sure your entire order is available and potted up.

Most plants will be in gallon pots and will price out at $6.50 each.   Because prairie plants can be slow to sprout, they may not be available until June of each summer.  Here are some of the prairie plants usually available in large quantities; most are also rain garden plants:
